Welcome to...

Shropshire Adventures Academy is a dedicated family run centre, excelling in providing personalised learning experiences for post 16 pupils with SEND needs, alongside tailored programs for students aged 11-16. It incorporates 'Country Treks Academy' which has been providing quality, award winning equine alternative provision for 30 plus years. Country Treks was on the pilot scheme of rolling out the ground breaking BHS 'Changing Lives Through Horses' programme and continues to be at the forefront as this scheme builds momentum and achieves the national recognition it deserves.

In addition to the equine, Shropshire Adventures also offers outdoor adventure, forest schools and qualifications within those categories.

Our Location

Shropshire Adventures Academy is based in a small village in South Shropshire, nestled on a beautiful 30 acres site complete with a large 30×80 arena, training facilities, timeout rooms, quiet zones, outdoor classrooms and a team of fully qualified coaches. Shropshire Adventures Academy has been designed to  fill the obvious gap in the delivery and accessibility of studies for vulnerable or additional needs learners . We decided that Ginny Hole was a very special place absolutely perfect to deliver bespoke training / mentoring. It’s a peaceful nature reserve with a lake and woodland which offer tranquillity and a sense of well being .

Staff

"To say Shropshire Adventures has been life changing for Lily is an understatement.  Prior to her placement, Lily was not attending school, barely leaving the house and had very poor mental health. Through the nurturing, encouraging, supportive and caring staff and environment here, Lily has thrived. Her confidence, independence and general well being has improved immensely. "

Lynsey

"We don’t really know quite where to start when it comes to thanking you for the help you have given George over the past few years. The difference in him since he started attending on a regular basis has been amazing and we have you to thank for enabling him to keep doing that. It has given him, and us, such a renewed sense of hope. The change in his confidence and ability to interact with people, and, possibly more importantly, his capacity to shift that change of outlook into broader aspects of life."

Helen

"Country Treks has truly changed lives, bringing them purpose and enjoyment and a future to look forward to. The team is professional, dedicated, and inclusive- taking a holistic approach and having a deep understanding of the importance of emotional well-being and the part that horses can play. "

British Horse Society

“I wanted to take this chance to let you know what the package you have put together for our students has meant to them. We have watched them develop in confidence throughout the year, they don’t always find taking the risk to learn easy and the resilience they are gaining through the curriculum they receive on a Friday is enabling them to push through their barriers in a way a classroom setting could not expect to achieve.’
